Summary

Explore Trujillo’s historic square, then enjoy the highlights of Lisbon and a visit to the pilgrimage site of Fátima. Continue through Caceres and Seville, with its charming Santa Cruz quarter, then on to Cordoba and the hilltop town of Ronda. Cross into Morocco to visit Casablanca, vibrant Marrakesh, regal Rabat, and the medieval medina of Fes. Return via the Alhambra in Granada and historic Toledo before ending in Madrid.

Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Madrid to Trujillo & Lisbon

    Madrid - Trujillo (Spain) - Lisbon (Portugal). We depart from the bus terminal at 7:45/8:00, heading toward the Extremadura region and arriving in Trujillo, the birthplace of several Spanish conquistadors. Enjoy free time to explore the impressive Plaza Mayor and soak up the town’s historic charm.

    We then cross the Portuguese border and continue to Lisbon, the capital city located at the mouth of the Tagus River. In the evening, there's an optional night tour to enjoy a traditional Fado show with Portuguese music and song.

    Please note: This tour is bi-lingual and will be conducted in Spanish as well as in English.

  • Day 2

    Lisbon City Tour

    This morning, we embark on a city sightseeing tour including the historic Alfama Quarter with its winding streets and traditional houses, the iconic Tower of Belém overlooking the Tagus River, and the impressive Jerónimos Monastery, a masterpiece of Manueline architecture.

    The afternoon is free for you to explore Lisbon at your own pace. You may also choose to join an optional excursion to Sintra, Estoril, or Cascais.

  • Day 3

    Exploring Fatima

    Lisbon - Fátima - Lisbon. This morning, after breakfast, we depart for Fátima, one of the most important Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world, known for the reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1917. Here, you can enjoy free time to visit the Sanctuary, including the Chapel of the Apparitions and the Basilica, before we return to Lisbon for the evening.

  • Day 4

    Lisbon to Caceres & Seville

    Lisbon (Portugal) - Caceres (Spain) - Seville. We begin our day with breakfast before departing for the Spanish border and continuing to Caceres. You’ll have free time to explore its Plaza Mayor and stroll through the old city, known for its remarkably preserved medieval quarter, a recognised World Heritage site.

    You can also enjoy lunch at one of the many spots in Caceres. We then continue south to Andalucía, arriving in Seville, where dinner is included.

  • Day 5

    Seville City Tour

    Today, we begin with a city tour of Seville, visiting María Luisa Park, Plaza de España, the exterior of the magnificent Cathedral and its Giralda Tower, and the charming Barrio de Santa Cruz, once the Jewish quarter.

    You’ll have the option to take a cruise on the Guadalquivir River for panoramic views of the Gold Tower and Expo 92, or explore the Maestranza bullring. In the evening, you may choose to attend a flamenco show.

  • Day 6

    Cordoba Exploration

    Seville - Cordoba. Enjoy breakfast this morning before we depart for Córdoba. Once we have arrived, we'll begin our walking tour at the Almodóvar Gate, a historic Moorish gateway leading into the old town, before exploring the narrow, whitewashed streets of the Jewish Quarter, including the 14th-century Synagogue. We’ll then visit the renowned Mosque-Cathedral, a masterpiece of Islamic architecture with its striking horseshoe arches and later Christian additions.

    The afternoon is free for leisure activities. Later, we will make our way to our accommodation, where we will enjoy dinner.

  • Day 7

    White Villages, Ronda & Costa del Sol

    Cordoba - Ronda - Costa del Sol. After breakfast, we depart for the Route of the White Villages and Ronda. Admire the striking hilltop villages with whitewashed houses, set against rugged landscapes, and enjoy some free time to explore Ronda, famous for its dramatic El Tajo gorge and the historic Puente Nuevo bridge. We then continue on to Costa del Sol, where we will make our way to our accommodation and have dinner.

  • Day 8

    Costa del Sol at Leisure

    Today, enjoy a day at leisure in the coastal city of Costa del Sol. Relax by the beach, explore local cafés, stroll along the promenade, or sample regional cuisine at one of the many seaside restaurants. Alternatively, you can choose to partake in some optional tours.

  • Day 9

    Another Day at Leisure in Costa del Sol

    Today, you can enjoy another day at leisure in the coastal city of Costa del Sol. Relax by the beach, explore local cafés, stroll along the promenade, or sample regional cuisine at one of the many seaside restaurants.

  • Day 10

    Costa del Sol to Tanger & Casablanca

    Costa del Sol (Spain) - Tangier (Morocco) - Casablanca. Today, we leave the Costa del Sol and make our way to the port to cross the Strait of Gibraltar by ferry, taking in views of the Mediterranean and the distant Rif Mountains as we sail towards Tangier.

    Upon arriving in Morocco, we continue our journey through changing landscapes and vibrant towns en route to Casablanca, the country’s economic hub. We arrive in the evening for dinner and overnight accommodation.

  • Day 11

    Casablanca to Marrakech

    Casablanca - Marrakech. After breakfast, we begin our day with panoramic views of Casablanca before heading to the iconic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the world and second only to Mecca. We’ll admire its dramatic oceanfront location and explore the impressive exterior, followed by some free time to stroll or relax.

    We then travel onwards to Marrakech, one of Morocco’s most vibrant imperial cities. After lunch, we visit the Koutoubia Mosque, a landmark of the city with its soaring minaret, and continue to the 19th-century Bahia Palace, an ornate masterpiece crafted by artisans from Fes.

    Later, we explore the historic Jewish quarter (Mellah) and pass through the bustling Kissaría Square en route to Djmaa El Fna. This lively square, a UNESCO-listed cultural treasure, is filled with storytellers, snake charmers, dancers and street performers. We then wind through the city’s souk, with its narrow alleys, colourful stalls and traditional guilds, before enjoying some free time to explore at your own pace.

  • Day 12

    Rabat Sights & Arrival in Fes

    Marrakech - Rabat - Fes. After breakfast, we journey to Rabat, Morocco’s administrative and royal capital, and one of its four imperial cities. Our sightseeing includes the striking Hassan Tower, a grand yet unfinished mosque surrounded by more than 200 columns.

    We’ll then visit the Mausoleum of Mohamed V, a tribute to the sultan who led the country to independence. Guarded by the royal guard in colourful ceremonial dress, the site offers a sense of grandeur and national pride.

    In the afternoon, we continue to Fes. On arrival, we settle into our accommodation and enjoy dinner.

  • Day 13

    Exploring the Heart of Fes

    After breakfast, we begin our discovery of Fes, Morocco’s cultural and religious capital. Our day starts with a panoramic drive, stopping at the Royal Palace with its iconic seven gates, Dar Al Makhzen.

    Next, we step into the ancient medina of Fes el Bali—a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest of its kind in Morocco. From Bab Boujloud to Es Seffarine Square, we’ll trace centuries of history through its maze of over 2,000 alleys, 785 mosques, and vibrant souks.

    We’ll explore artisan quarters like the leather tanners and seamstresses, visit a traditional Medersa, and end among the copper workshops echoing with centuries-old craft. We will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon you will have free time to explore at your leisure.

  • Day 14

    Return to Costa del Sol through Tangier

    Fes - Tangier - Costa del Sol. After breakfast, we’ll travel north through Morocco’s varied landscapes to Tangier. Along the way, enjoy glimpses of rural towns and coastal scenery.

    From Tangier, we’ll cross the Strait of Gibraltar by ferry, offering views of both continents. Upon reaching the Costa del Sol, we’ll enjoy dinner and settle in for the night.

  • Day 15

    Exploring Granada & the Alhambra

    Costa del Sol – Granada. Today, we depart for Granada. Here, we will explore the stunning Alhambra and Generalife, the former residence of the Moorish kings, renowned for its magnificent fountains, gardens, and arches.

    This tour includes visits to the Palace of Carlos V, the Archaeological Museum, the Church of Santa María de la Alhambra, the Royal Chapel, a stroll through the Alcaicería, the historic silk market, and Cathedral Square.

    This evening, there is an optional visit to the Sacromonte caves to experience a traditional gipsy flamenco show.

    Please note: If tickets to the Alhambra and Generalife are unavailable on specific dates, as determined by the Patronato, an alternative city tour of Granada will be offered. This will include visits to the Palace of Carlos V, the Archaeological Museum, the Church of Santa María de la Alhambra, the Royal Chapel, as well as a walk through the Alcaicería silk market and Cathedral Square.

  • Day 16

    Granada to Toledo & Madrid

    After breakfast, we will be departing for the Imperial City of Toledo, known for its rich history and monuments. Here, we will enjoy lunch and explore the city's narrow streets and alleys. Afterwards, we will return to Madrid, where our services will conclude upon arrival. You will be dropped off on Ferraz Street, near the Plaza de Espana, at approximately 17:30, though this time is subject to external factors such as traffic and passenger delays.
